With silkscreen printing, inks are not “pressed” against the surface but are applied through a porous fabric which acts as a stencil. The porosity of the screen impacts the resolution of the print, while subsequent application of inks is used to create multi-colored images. This printing technology is suitable for Pantone colors but is unable to print color gradients.
